FAQs
Who and/or what is RON?
RON stands for Re-Open Nominations and is an option for every position during voting if you don't believe any of the candidates should be elected and you'd like to reopen the nominations for more people to apply.
How many positions can I nominate myself for?
You can only nominate yourself for one position.
If you change your mind you can change your form submission up to the end of the nomination period, or reach out to manseds@manchesterstudentsunion.com
I'm not sure about the role? Who can I talk to?
Please reach out to a member of the committee or manseds@manchesterstudentsunion.com for more information
Can I change my nomination?
You can change your form submission up to the end of the nomination period, or reach out to manseds@manchesterstudentsunion.com
I haven't got all the skills for the role yet should I still apply?
Societies are intended to be an environment where students can develop their skills. As such you don't need all the skills going into the role but you do need the right attitude.
You'll also be supported by the current committee and members of the previous committee to ensure you know what to do.
What is the handover process?
New committee members will have a 1 on 1 handover session with a member of the previous committee to help them transition into their new role.
They will also have access to internal committee guidance for relevant processes and will be able to ask previous members of the committee for help.
How does the voting system work?
At the end of the voting period, the Elections Officer will count all the votes from the Microsoft Form, remove all the votes from people who aren't members of ManSEDS on the Student Union (using their student ID) and then release the results or start another round of voting if RON has won.
If you've got any other questions, please reach out to manseds@manchesterstudentsunion.com
