One of our most ambitious and unconventional rocketry projects is the Giant Cardboard Rocket, a research vehicle built primarily from recyclable packaging‑grade cardboard. First developed as an academic project within the Aerospace Engineering Department, it has grown witht eh support of ManSEDS, exploring how sustainable, low‑cost materials can be used in large‑scale aerospace structures. The current vehicle design stands over 10 metres tall, with a planned 14‑metre record‑attempt rocket in development. The project combines structural testing, materials research, and practical launch operations, giving students a unique opportunity to work on a rocket unlike anything else in the UK student rocketry community.
